We've got two new Net Tuesday groups starting this week, so spread the word!
The first Chicago Net Tuesday will meet on Tuesday, March 11th at 6 PM.
The first Los Angeles Net Tuesday will meet on Wednesday, March 13th at 7:30 PM.
If you live in the Chicago or Los Angeles area, please help to spread the word.
We recently received a Tweet from @coolcatteacher asking,
"@NetSquared - Do you have a method for rural nonprofits to get involved using elluminate or other tools -- many of us aren't in cities" (She lives in Camilla, Georgia).
Although Net Tuesdays, monthly gatherings for social changemakers and web innovators, are meant to provide an opportunity for face-to-face socializing and networking, some folks might not have enough interested people in their area to get a group together.
What tools do you think would be useful for creating virtual Net Tuesdays? Second Life comes to mind, but not everyone's computer and Internet connection can handle Second Life.
The Cool Cat Teacher mentioned elluminate. What are other ideas do you have for virtual meeting tools and/or examples of successful monthly virtual meetups?

We've also got a budding group in "The Triangle" (Durham-Raleigh-Chapel Hill) in North Carolina that is looking for co-organizers. If you're interested, contact Chris Limerick at chris_limerick AT yahoo DOT com.

All of the groups, including Net Tuesdays in Portland, OR; Guayaquil, Ecuador; Seattle; Phoenix; Houston; Washington, DC; New York City and San Francisco are always looking for speakers. You can contact the organizers through their Meetup groups, or email net2@techsoup.org, and we'll put you in touch with them.

Tonight we're trying a little experiment and are going to stream video from Net Tuesday SF using Ustream
We've got 10 Net Tuesdays happening in February, and two new cities looking for co-organizers, speakers and sponsors. Wahoo! If you want to start a Net Tuesday in your city, email me at bbravo@techsoup.org.
